Bomb explodes outside court of Basque town causing serious damage

The bomb was placed by ETA and caused serious damage to the building. It also damaged around twenty cars parked nearby. Moreover, some hooded people attacked Eusko Tren train station in the Basque town of Lezama.

Basque Nationalist party president Iñigo Urkullu announced today that Basque PM Juan Jose Ibarretxe will present his candidacy for the fourth time to Basque Autonomic community government.

Seven of them are at the police station of Pau, while the other half are being questioned in Bayonne. On the other hand, French police has resumed search at the offices of the banned leftist party Batasuna in Bayonne.

Those arrested, a man and woman, are being questioned in the city of Saint-Etienne. It is not clear if the arrests were linked to Tuesday’s attack in northern Spain that killed an army officer.
